What kind of problem will we solve?
You’ll choose from two real-world space opportunities. Previous challenges have focused on lunar habitats, wellbeing of humans in space, and space debris removal!
Do I need experience in engineering or space to join?
Not at all, this event is open to everyone! Whether you have a technical, business, creative background or are just curious, this event is for you! Zero prior experience needed.
Can high school students join?
Yes! High school students are more than welcome to register and participate.
How big can the teams be? What if I don’t have a team?
3-5 people per team. Either come with some friends or we’ll help match you with a team on the day! Please note, all team members will need to register individually, team formation/registration will occur at the event.
Pitches & Prizes
What does the final pitch involve?
Each team will give a short presentation to industry judges, sharing their idea and business model. No prototype needed, just a strong concept!
Are there prizes?
Yes! There’ll be awards for first place in each brief, as well as categories like best pitch, most innovative idea, and more! Past prizes have included facility tours, lunches with company executives, and exclusive opportunities.

Event Format
What happens during the 24 hours?
First, you’ll hear from our sponsors and be presented with two briefs to choose from. You’ll then form teams, brainstorm, and develop a business plan together. There’ll be mentors for guidance, catered meals, and a pitch session and Award Ceremony at the end.
Will there be food?
Yes! All meals are provided, including dinner on the Saturday, and breakfast, lunch, and dinner on the Sunday. We’ll also have soft drinks, coffee, tea, juice and RedBull throughout!
What should I bring?
Bring your laptop or tablet, charger, water bottle, and anything else that helps you work comfortably. We’ll provide food, power, stationery and Wi-Fi. If you are planning on staying the night, please bring a sleeping mat, sleeping bag, pillow and any toiletries you may need.
Do I have to stay overnight?
Nope, overnight participation is completely optional! You're welcome to stay and keep working (or sleep in the designated room at the venue) or head home and return in the morning. Any participants who are international students under 18 at the University of Adelaide will need to meet any curfews imposed by your accommodation. We may be required to verify the age of participants on the day.
